Scripture Reading: Zechariah 3:1-6
When God prepares you for a task, it doesn't matter how much unqualified you may feel. Nothing you have experienced in your past can define who you are today. Nor, can it define whose you are.
As long as the Lord is on your side, He is able to create a new person out of what you see staring you in the mirror.
When Joshua was being presented before the angels of God, he was full of all kinds of filth: his past failures, guilt, and most likely things that he may not have even known were in his heart. The Lord's angels were able to clear him of all of that junk within a short time frame.
It didn't matter that his opponent, Satan, stood on the right side of him taunting the idea of Joshua serving the Lord in such a high capacity. God was able to clear Joshua of all of his mishaps as well as rebuke the devil right from messing with the plans he had for Joshua. He loved and cared for him that much!
What's also important to note is that God allowed Joshua's external to reflect what He had did inside of Joshua's spirit internally just so that he would look the part of where God was bringing him into.
He did this for two reasons:
One, he didn't want Joshua standing in his presence any kind of way. His new role was such an anointed position that it would require him to draw near to the Lord frequently on behalf of having to offer up sacrifices for the people's sin as well as his own.
Two, it was also so that the people who Joshua were to judge as a mediator between them and God would understand Joshua's position in such high authority. So, it was important that Joshua looked the part to others so that he would represent God properly.
When God prepares you for a specific task, it is crucial that you understand what is most important to think about. If God desires to use you for His purpose, rest assured, He will never leave you hanging. None of your past mistakes, failures, shortcomings, or even your secret sins can get in the way of what the Lord wants to do through you. This goes for Satan, the accuser, too!
Just as He allowed his angels to clean Joshua up so that he could look the part from the inside out, He is also able to do the same with you right now!
If you could have a talk with Jesus about His future plans for you, what would you say? Answer the following questions below. Pretend the Lord is speaking directly to you.
Do you understand the purpose I have for you? If not, assume you do. I want you to tell Me what stands or would stand in the way of you doing My will? Any insecurities from past experiences, any doubts, or fears of any kind?

What is your idea of Me when you think about My power and authority? Do you feel that I am able to do the impossible in your life? Recall a miracle or any supernatural thing I have done for you and how it made you feel.

What if I called you into a life of sacrifice. I was calling you to do something you never imagined yourself doing before AND you were able to see that it made your peers, family, and/or friends begin to see you negatively. What would be your three biggest drawbacks to doing my will?
